It is yet another year and as always, the SAWIP family tree ought to grow. This year SAWIP has raised the bar in all aspects in order to sustain and live up to its vision, which is to “inspire, develop and support a diverse new generation of emerging South African leaders within multiple disciplines”. The search for a new cohort of aspiring young leaders who serve has begun.

The recruitment process commenced at the Orientation Week of the University of the Western Cape with a SAWIP stall being setup. This momentum will continue to the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University as they head into their respective Orientation Weeks. The identifiable SAWIP posters have been placed in all faculty buildings on each campus as well as in common student hotspots. To further reach out to as many students as possible social media is currently being used and the SAWIP alumni have been spreading the word. Contact sessions have also been secured within each university with a Q&A session for all interested students.

SAWIP aims to attract as many applications as possible from the three Western Cape Universities for its 15 strong team so the competition will be fierce.

Applications opened on Monday 30th January and will close on the 24th of February 2012. Each year SAWIP has an incredible team of students representing the program and the country. If you would like to be part of this life changing opportunity go to www.sawip.org/apply.
