SAWIP Announces New Additions to the Boards of Directors

December 2011- SAWIP recently welcomed several new board members on both sides of the ocean in an effort to build capacity for stronger program development. In the United States, we are delighted to welcome Mr. Albert Maartens, COO and President of Standard Americas, Inc., and Ambassador Robert Perry, Vice President for International Programs at the Corporate Council on Africa. Both previously served on the SAWIP-US Advisory Committee.

In South Africa, Mr. Harry Calver, a retired executive at Anglo-American and former member of the SAWIP-SA Advisory Committee, and Ms. Zuki Mqolomba, a McKinsey & Company Leadership Fellow, have accepted directorships.

In line with the SAWIP(SA) Board’s policy of a rotating Chair,Mr. Brian Currin has stepped down., We are pleased, however, to announce that Mr. Vincent Williams, Program Manager at IDASA, has accepted this appointment. Mr. Currin remains part-time Volunteer Executive Director, which, in order to fulfill the highest standards of corporate governance, has required that he resign as a director of the Board.
