Vivek hails from the small town of Pietermaritzburg. He left for the bright lights of the city to attend the University of Cape Town where he completed an honours in economics last year. Convinced that his future did not lie in the realm of pure economics, Vivek is now a budding lawyer at UCT. His hope is to combine his knowledge of economic principles with an understanding of the actual legal environment to which they must ultimately adhere. He hopes to make a significant contribution the development of a just, more equitable international trade regime which is sympathetic to the plight of the developing world.

His true passion lies in debating. He has been a SA speaker, coach and trainer at international championships around the world. He is currently the training director of the African Schools Debating Championships and the Tournament Director of the World University Debating Championships in Botswana (2010/2011).
