Ayanda is a 2nd year LL.B student at the University of the Western Cape. He is the eldest of 5 children, born and raised in rural Umtata in the Eastern Cape. Coming from this underdeveloped and disadvantaged rural village, where the majority of young people are not educated, Ayanda has been a role model to those who have not been fortunate enough to be in school. He has started a Community Based Organization (CBO) that is registered as a Non Profit Organization in his current home town.

He has been very involved in community building programs, and has volunteered as a peer facilitator in local high schools. He is also very involved in politics and is a member of a student movement, the Pan Africanist Student Movement of Azania (PASMA). He subscribes to the chief doctrine of African people, Africanism, and like many African leaders he has a dream of a United States of Africa.
