My internship is at the National Black Caucus for State Legislators. This is a non-partisan organisation that was started in 1977 to increase the presence of black people on Capitol Hill. Today many of the government officials on The Hill are proud memebers of the NBCSL and continue to be the voice for their constituents as they serve the people of this country.
My supervisor is Atiba Madyun and I am very grateful to him for all that he has taught me and for allowing me to become a part of this family here at the NBCSL.
I’ve been very blessed to have done everything from writing, to making phonecalls to prominent people, to admin, to sitting in on meetings.
I know that had it not been for SAWIP, this opportunity would’ve never been possible and my horizons would’ve never been broaden.
THANK YOU to all the friends of SAWIP, your commitment to the program and your belief in us stretches so far…. THANK YOU for all that you’ve done!
Hi Nadine,
So glad that your internship has been great. I do hope that you keep up the communication and relationship with the NBCSL.
Enjoy the last few days.
Travel safely.
