The efficient transport system and religious adherence to laws here often reminds me that I am in a 1st world country. I like this city very much, although it can never match the picturesque Cape Town.

On Sunday I cycled 10 miles to go see the Great Falls on the Potomic River (the river bisect’s DC and is the source of life for the city). In so doing I got a chance to explore the outer plains of the city and the
scenic areas around DC. Although every single muscle in my body is currently aching, the experience was nevertheless worthwhile.
And the Obama effect: Its amazing what that man has done to the American way of thinking: everywhere you go there are posters of him, memorabilia, pictures, he’s on TV everyday, is written about in newspapers everyday and the likes … talk about Hero Worship!
All in all, I’m having fun in DC.
