The South Africa-Washington International Program is helping to inspire, prepare and support South African youth to lead a sustainable democracy with a peaceful and prosperous future for all its citizens.

Frank Cantrel Jr.

Frank Cantrel Jr. is vice president of federal govenment relations at Verizon, a global broadband company with annual revenues of more than $93 billion. He joined MCI Communications in 1988; MCI was acquired by Verizon in 200-6. Prior to that, Cantrel spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill. For most of that time, he served on the professional staff  of two Senate committees Science & Transportation (1981-85) and Finance (1985-88). He is a graduate of Fairfield University (BA, Economics) and the George Mason University School of Law. He and his wife Anne have three children and reside in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
